Looking Beautiful Feeling Awful
(Women are suffering!)
There is absolutely no problem with wearing high heels, looking good in them and walking in them like you own them. Of course not! Otherwise there will be no need to write this piece anyway. The problem is, seeing ladies suffer in them can be quite a painful and funny sight to bear.
It is advisable that you wear high heels occasionally and if you must wear them more than occasionally, don't do it more than twice a week.
Sometimes you wish you could just approach them and ask ‘is it by force?’
Hey, it’s all about the high inches! Have you been to a social event lately? If you have, then this is not new to you, and well, if it’s been a while since you stepped out for one, you should still be seeing it there in the banks, churches, tertiary schools, on TV (The Red Carpets are showing them all) and ........everywhere! Gush, those shoes are high and probably tight too!
You don’t need a 6 inch heel to look gorgeous. It feels as if you are missing out on something when you attend an event leaving your heels at home. Next time you go to the Awards shows, the musical concerts, the premiers, observe ‘them’.
Some ladies have confessed that even though they know how uncomfortable they get in them, they still can’t think of a better option as they badly need that extra height.
Really? For some women, heels are confidence boosts and come with an urge which makes you feel like you are on top of your game.
Apart from the fact that some of these heels are high and make the wearer look gorgeous, most ladies have a hard time walking in them.
Doctors say high heeled shoes put a lot of stress on the joints and put the spine in danger. When heels are constantly worn, the spine which is naturally straight begins to take the form of the shape 'S'. The higher the heels, the more the pressure and danger. Pressure on the knee can also cause arthritis. Increased pressure puts the forefoot at risk for injuries such as stress fractures, bunions and hammertoes.

A man once asked me ‘why do some of you ladies put yourselves through such pain? I could not think of anything better to say than ‘I guess it’s one of the things women have to go through to get men’s attention’.
Check out some of the Ghanaian reality shows ... From Mentor, Stars of the future, Vodafone Icons, Miss Malaika, and the rest of them. High heels are such a big deal. Whoever said you need straight high heels to knock a show down?
Can you imagine the pain some of those girls go through on stage? Try meeting them backstage.
The story can be told on their faces.
I can easily recall one of the Mentor Judges on TV3 Mark Okraku Mantey passed a comment that sounded like ‘Come on, why do you come up here in these shoes if you know you are not
comfortable in them?
Get something you can be more comfortable in, these shoes are not helping you’ Apparently, it had to do with costuming and so they (the contestants) had no choice than to wear them.
Do not get it twisted, am not denying the transformation a pair of heels can give you to get that ‘dress to kill’ look, but let’s face it, what is the sense in looking beautiful and feeling awful?
